Tayshia Adams Shares Health Concerns Ahead of NYC Marathon
Tayshia Adams has recently opened up about her health concerns that may force her to skip the New York City Marathon, an event she holds dear. In a candid Instagram Stories post on October 29, the 36-year-old reality star shared that her body is not cooperating as she had hoped, stating, "my body’s kind of acting up."
As the marathon approaches this Sunday, November 1, Tayshia admitted to feeling overwhelmed and unprepared. "I kind of don’t know what day it is. I can’t even speak because I am just all over the place," she explained. Despite her nerves, Tayshia mentioned that this would be her fourth time participating in the NYC Marathon, which has somewhat eased her anxiety.
However, this year is different. Tayshia revealed that she has an autoimmune disease that causes her stress to trigger flare-ups, resulting in extreme fatigue and joint pain. "And I kind of need my joints this weekend, specifically my knees," she quipped, highlighting the physical demands of marathon running.
Tayshia's Emotional Connection to Running
The former contestant on The Bachelor expressed her disappointment, stating, "It really sucks on such a weekend that I have anticipated for months now and that means so much to me." Running has been a passion throughout her life, from high school to college, making the prospect of missing the marathon particularly tough.
Across the Line
Tayshia acknowledged the frustration of not being able to control how her body feels, saying, "It’s really difficult to just ride out because you really can’t do much for it and that is probably the most frustrating part for me." Despite these challenges, she remains hopeful, wishing to feel well enough to participate in the marathon.
Last year, Tayshia completed the NYC Marathon with a recorded time of 4:44:54, a testament to her dedication to the sport. Ahead of that race, she shared her excitement on Instagram, showcasing her gear and enthusiasm for the event. As she navigates this year's uncertainties, Tayshia’s resilience shines through, reminding us of the mental and physical challenges many runners face, especially those with health conditions.
